“AN OUTSTANDING LINGUIST” — scientific and Literary Conference Dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of State Prize Laureate Subhon Atobullo Held in Buston

A scientific and literary conference entitled “An Outstanding Linguist” was held at the State Institution “Shodmon Alifov School of Arts” in Buston City to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the distinguished linguist, renowned Tajik scholar, and laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tajikistan named after Abu Ali ibn Sino, Subhon Atobullo.

The event was organized within the framework of the regular session of the “Guardians and Supporters of the State Language” club under the Executive Body of State Authority of Buston City and was initiated by the Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan in Buston. Among the participants were Deputy Chairman of Buston City Mamnur Nurzoda, Chairman of the City Council of War and Labor Veterans Gafurjon Zoiri, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan in Buston Mahmadali Boboev, lecturers of the State Educational Institution “Khujand State University named after Academician Bobojon Gafurov” — Muso Olimjonov, Subhon Azamzod, and Salohiddin Uzbekov — as well as scholars, teachers, and representatives of the city’s education sector.

During the conference, participants reflected on the life, scholarly activities, and rich academic legacy of Subhon Atobullo, emphasizing his invaluable contribution to the development of Tajik linguistics and the strengthening of the status of the state language. It was noted that his scientific works have played a significant role in the study and research of the Tajik language and continue to serve as reliable academic sources for future generations of researchers.

The speakers also discussed the state policy of the Republic of Tajikistan regarding the preservation and development of the Tajik language, respect for national values, and the promotion of a culture of eloquent speech. Special emphasis was placed on the role of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in strengthening the status and prestige of the state language.

The literary section of the conference featured poetry recitations dedicated to the Tajik language by participants and students of educational institutions, as well as presentations of excerpts from the scholarly works and reflections of Subhon Atobullo.

It was emphasized that organizing such events contributes to enhancing linguistic awareness, fostering respect for the scientific heritage of the nation’s distinguished scholars, and educating the younger generation in the spirit of national self-awareness, while also creating favorable conditions for strengthening the position of the state language in society.
