In order to implement the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Combating Human Trafficking and Providing Assistance to Victims of Human Trafficking” and the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated June 24, 2025, No. 403 “On the National Plan for Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025–2027,” and with the aim of increasing citizens’ legal awareness, a large-scale information campaign was held in Buston City under the slogans “Human Beings Are Not for Sale!” and “Youth Against Human Trafficking.”
In this nationwide initiative, organized today jointly by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Human Trafficking, and the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Executive Body of State Authority of Buston City actively participated.
The campaign took place on the eve of major sporting events — the “National Run” and a cycling marathon — attracting significant attention from young people, athletes, and residents of various professions in the city. Sports and a healthy lifestyle were presented as symbols of freedom, strength, and resistance against negative social phenomena.
During the campaign, organizers and volunteers distributed special informational and explanatory leaflets to residents and guests of Buston City. These materials contained detailed information about the dangers of human trafficking, ways to prevent it, human rights and freedoms, as well as hotline numbers of relevant authorities.
“Buying and selling human beings is a crime! Freedom, dignity, and rights are guaranteed to everyone. We must all unite in the fight against this terrible phenomenon and put an end to it!” — organizers emphasized while distributing the informational materials.
Conducting such campaigns before major sporting events makes it possible to deliver an anti-crime and humanitarian message to a wide audience, especially to young people, who are considered one of the most vulnerable groups in society. Residents of Buston City warmly welcomed this initiative and expressed their readiness to cooperate in this direction.
Tajikistan stands against human trafficking!
