On February 24, a meeting dedicated to combating human trafficking was held at the State Educational Institution “Gymnasium 2” in Buston city.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of Buston city Mamnur Nurzoda, the Acting Prosecutor of the city Daler Mahmadalizoda, and the Head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan in Buston city, Umed Solizoda.
Members of the Territorial Commission on Combating Human Trafficking in Buston city, heads of departments and divisions of the Chairman’s Office, leaders of structural units of the local executive authority, representatives of the education and healthcare sectors, culture, women and youth affairs, chairpersons of mahallas, responsible officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Buston city, parents, senior school students, media representatives, and members of the public also took part in the meeting.
The meeting was opened by the Deputy Chairman of Buston city Mamnur Nurzoda, who spoke about measures for the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Combating Human Trafficking and Providing Assistance to Victims of Human Trafficking,” ensuring the execution of the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated July 24, 2025, No. 403 “On the National Plan to Combat Human Trafficking for 2025–2027,” as well as the Resolution of the Chairman of Sughd Region dated October 19, 2025, No. 308 on the implementation of this plan in Buston city.
The Head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Buston city, Umed Solizoda, delivered a report on the implementation of the above-mentioned legal acts and preventive measures undertaken by law enforcement bodies in the city.
Subsequently, the Acting Prosecutor of the city, Daler Mahmadalizoda, expressed his views on issues related to combating human trafficking.
It was emphasized that combating human trafficking, working with victims, protecting human rights and freedoms, and other important aspects of this field should remain at the core of the activities of the commission, relevant authorities, and society as a whole.
It was noted that in modern times, human trafficking manifests itself in various forms such as forced labor, sexual exploitation, economic exploitation, and forced services, with personal freedom being the primary target of such crimes.
It was also stated that the Republic of Tajikistan, as a member of the international community under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, attaches paramount importance to human rights and freedoms and constitutionally recognizes human beings, their rights, and freedoms as the highest value.
Based on the instructions and guidance of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the recommendations of the Chairman of Sughd Region His Excellency Rajab Ahmadzoda, as well as the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and Chairman of the Republican Commission on Combating Human Trafficking His Excellency Abdurahmon Alamshozoda, delivered on February 12 during the visiting session of the Interagency Commission on Combating Human Trafficking in Sughd Region, specific instructions were given to the chairman, members of the commission, and responsible officials to ensure the effective implementation of the relevant law and government resolutions.
